Job summary

Clysar LLC is seeking an Electronics/Controls Technician to support Operations and Maintenance with day-to-day troubleshooting of electrical and control systems. The role includes installing and commissioning new equipment, updating documentation, and mentoring junior technicians to build site-wide expertise.

You will work hands-on with PLCs, HMI platforms, and industrial networks while collaborating with Engineering on design changes and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two-year associate degree in electronics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with industrial automation controls is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support on PLCs, drives, HMIs, and industrial controls.
  • Assist Engineering with installation and commissioning of new equipment and control systems.
  • Coordinate with other departments to implement design changes and modifications.
  • Identify and report recurring failure modes and equipment reliability issues to Engineering for root-cause follow-up.
  • Develop and write SOPs and calibration procedures for new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation and prints for projects and upgrades.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams as a technical resource.
  • Mentor less-experienced technicians; provide documentation and training that builds skill and knowledge across the facility.
  • Stay current on PLC/controls hardware and software developments relevant to the site's installed base.

Job description

An Electronics/Controls Technician in Clysar, LLC will provide day-to-day troubleshooting and assistance to Operations and Maintenance with the site's electrical and control systems. These responsibilities include conventional and PLC troubleshooting support as well assisting in the development and installation of new equipment and control systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support to Operations and Maintenance on PLCs (Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC, PLC5), drives (Allen-Bradley, Parker/SSD), HMIs (FactoryTalk View), plant floor networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, DH+), power distribution, and general industrial controls
  • Assist Engineering with installation and commissioning of new equipment and control systems
  • Coordinate with other departments to implement design changes and modifications

Requirements

Strong aptitude for Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC controls, drives, and I/O systems

  • Experience with industrial Ethernet communications, PID loop troubleshooting, tension control systems, and electromechanical systems
  • Comfort troubleshooting industrial PC hardware (e.g., HMI platforms)
  • Preferred but not required: familiarity with FactoryTalk Historian/Transaction Manager or SQL-based data collection systems
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A two-year associates degree in electronics from an accredited institution or the equivalent experience in the electrical controls field
