Job summary

CyberCoders, Inc. seeks a hands-on Controls Technician to install, troubleshoot, commission, and maintain industrial control systems in fluid process environments.

You will work with PLC-based automation and field devices in food and beverage, dairy, sanitary processing, and water treatment settings. The role requires electrical/electronics hands-on experience, familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs, instrument calibration, and electrical testing.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent hands-on experience in Electrical Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial control systems and electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and industrial automation systems.
• Experience with motor controls, VFDs, relays, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Ability to use electrical test equipment, including multimeters and process calibrators.
• Basic understanding of industrial networking and communications.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLC-based control systems, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.
• Assist with startup, commissioning, and field checkout of automation systems.
• Perform electrical and instrumentation installation, wiring, and testing.
• Support control panel assembly, modification, and maintenance.
• Configure and troubleshoot field devices including flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, control valves, and VFDs.
• Perform electrical I/O verification and system testing.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and P&IDs.
• Work closely with engineers, electricians, and project teams during installations and upgrades.
• Support preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Overview

Seeking a hands-on Controls Technician to support the installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial control systems and process equipment. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food & beverage, dairy, sanitary processing, water treatment, or similar process manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience with fluid process systems, including pumps, valves, piping systems, CIP systems, and process instrumentation.
• Familiarity with HMI systems such as FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, or Ignition.
• Knowledge of UL 508A control panels.
• Experience with startup, commissioning, and plant maintenance activities.
