Job summary

Joby is seeking a Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Electronics in San Carlos, CA to manage supplier development and qualification for electronic components. You will lead NPI activities, coordinate with design, quality, and purchasing teams, and drive improvements in cost, quality, and delivery while traveling up to 50% as needed.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 5+ years in industrial/manufacturing/process engineering or supplier quality, and strong GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or evidence of exceptional ability
• 5+ years in industrial, manufacturing, process engineering or supplier quality engineering
• Knowledge of electronics manufacturing including PCB, PCBA, FPCs, SiC, actives, passives, assemblies
• GD&T and inspection expertise
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally with passport or ability to obtain one
• Proven leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Improve tools and develop approaches to quality management in a fast-paced environment
• Manage supplier manufacturing and assembly processes from development to mass production qualification
• Provide leadership for New Product Introduction at Suppliers and drive improvements in scalability, cost and quality
• Coordinate technical requirements between Suppliers and Purchasing, Quality, and Design teams
• Lead supplier audits to ensure part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations
• Collaborate to determine performance specs and supplier metrics
• Lead and track supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes
• Guide suppliers to develop robust processes for high-quality production
• Validate supplier corrective actions for design/process changes
• Provide input on alternative materials for cost reduction
