Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Milpitas, CA, to lead the industrialization of new electronic products and PCBAs. You will own NPI projects, manage ECOs/MCOs, and ensure BOM accuracy while aligning with RFQ assumptions and production needs.

The role is 100% onsite in Milpitas, requiring 7–10 years of electronics manufacturing experience, EMS background, and strong cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience in electronics.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and product industrialization.
  • Prior EMS environment experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NPI builds from prototype through production ramp-up.
  • Manage ECOs and MCOs with BOM analysis and impact assessments.
  • Maintain BOM accuracy through codification management and BOM cleansing.
  • Review component data with SiliconExpert and ensure RoHS/REACH compliance.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews and customer-facing technical discussions.
  • Investigate manufacturing and quality issues; implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing routings and labor standards.
  • Create manufacturing documentation: process flows, work instructions, APQP docs.
  • Coordinate across Process Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Test Engineering teams.
  • Define and optimize manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Lead DFM reviews and feasibility studies with customers and internal teams.
  • Facilitate PFMEA, feasibility studies, risk evaluations, and process impact analyses.
  • Define tooling requirements for prototype and production phases.
  • Develop solutions to improve manufacturability, efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for new product launches.
  • Verify materials and component readiness during SMT setup and initial production activities.

Manufacturing Engineer (JN -082026-429244) Milpitas, California

Salary: USD130000 - USD140000 per year + Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join a client in Milpitas. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The role is 100% onsite.

This position will lead the industrialization and introduction of new electronic products and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). This role is critical to ensuring successful New Product Introduction (NPI), seamless transition from prototype to mass production, and continuous process optimization within a fast-paced EMS manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will serve as the technical lead for product industrialization, working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to drive manufacturability, quality, and operational excellence throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and monitor New Product Introduction (NPI) builds from prototype through production ramp-up.
  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), including BOM analysis, impact assessments, and rework cost evaluations.
  • Maintain BOM accuracy through codification management and BOM cleansing activities.
  • Review and analyze component data using SiliconExpert and ensure compliance with REACH, RoHS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the technical lead during Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and customer-facing technical discussions.
  • Investigate manufacturing and quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing routings and labor standards aligned with RFQ assumptions and production requirements.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process flowcharts, work instructions, APQP documentation, and related technical records.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities among Process Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Test Engineering teams.
  • Define and optimize manufacturing processes to support customer requirements and operational objectives.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews with customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Facilitate PFMEA activities, feasibility assessments, risk evaluations, and process impact analyses.
  • Define, validate, and implement tooling requirements for prototype and production phases.
  • Develop and deploy technical solutions that improve manufacturability, efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices for new product launches.
  • Verify materials and component readiness during SMT setup and initial production activities.
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will be considered.
Experience
  • 7 to 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience within the electronics industry.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and product industrialization activities.
  • Prior experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong project management and product industrialization expertise.
  • Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Thorough understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, including SMT and PCBA production.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality and manufacturing core tools:

  • Knowledge of engineering change management processes (ECO/MCO).
