Silicon Valley Recruiting LLC is recruiting a Purchasing Manager for an electronics manufacturing client in Union City, CA. The role oversees procurement, supplier relationships, and material availability in a fast-paced environment, with hands-on leadership and day-to-day procurement activity.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing purchasing, experience sourcing electronic components, and strong negotiation, inventory, and ERP/MRP proficiency to lead a small team of buyers onsite.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in purchasing/procurement within manufacturing.
• Experience sourcing electronic components, connectors, cable assemblies, or related electromechanical materials.
• Strong knowledge of BOMs, material planning, and inventory management.
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience.
• Demonstrated supplier sourcing, negotiation, and cost-reduction experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Experience coordinating purchasing across manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily purchasing and procurement activities to ensure timely material availability for manufacturing.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers of electronic components and related materials.
• Lead a small purchasing team of 2–3 employees with guidance and performance oversight.
• Review BOMs, purchasing requirements, inventory levels, and production schedules to anticipate needs.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage POs, lead times, and inventory availability.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and purchasing agreements.
• Monitor open POs, expedite critical materials, and resolve supplier issues.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Operations to address shortages.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and optimize inventory.
• Monitor PPV, supplier performance, and cost savings metrics.
• Develop relations with domestic and international suppliers.
• Support continuous improvement of purchasing processes.
