Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement or buyer/planner work.
• Electronics manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage PO schedules, supplier communication, push-outs/pull-ins, ship dates, and production updates.
• Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales, engineering, suppliers, and document control teams.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Experience in an ISO 9000 environment.

Job description

I have a client located in the Sunnyvale, CA area that has an opportunity for a Project Buyer for Computer Systems.

In this role, you will be working as a Project Buyer for a client that manufactures embedded ruggedized electronics, computer boards, computer systems, and ethernet switches used in industrial, medical, military, and scientific applications. This position will be responsible for managing purchasing activities for electronics, including components, circuit boards, enclosures, materials, and outside services.

The Project Buyer will act as the main point of contact for purchasing-related issues for this product line and will work closely with manufacturing, sales, engineering, document control, suppliers, and local/offshore contract manufacturers. Responsibilities will include sourcing components, developing vendor relationships, managing purchase orders and production schedules, coordinating push-outs and pull-ins, tracking order status, resolving invoice and supplier issues, supporting cost reduction initiatives, and helping implement lead-time reduction and safety stock programs.

This position is available on a Contract to Permanent basis. This role must be worked on-site in their Sunnyvale, CA office.

Pay: $38 - $44 / hr, depending on experience

Must be W2 under contract. Cannot be Corp-to-Corp or 1099.
