Job summary

SMTC Corporation in Fremont, CA is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement and supplier relationships, ensuring material availability for production schedules and customer commitments. You will execute MRP actions, monitor supplier performance, and collaborate across planning, engineering, and finance teams.

The role requires 3+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, preferably EMS, with ERP/MRP proficiency and strong negotiation and data-analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing.
• EMS experience and ERP/MRP proficiency highly valued.
• CPIM/CSCP and Lean Six Sigma credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement and supplier relationships to ensure material availability.
• Create and monitor purchase orders, monitor supplier performance and delivery.
• Execute MRP actions to align supply with production demand.
• Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, Receiving, Quality and Finance.
• Support supplier qualification, cost analysis, and sourcing initiatives.
