Job summary

EMIT Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Palleting, WIP Organization & Preassembly Technician to support efficient production flow in Electronics Assembly.

You will complete panel preassembly, organize WIP inventory, palletize finished panels, and ensure FIFO, packaging, and documentation meet EMIT standards. This role involves operating overhead cranes, maintaining a safe, production-ready workspace, inspecting quality, and communicating issues that could affect the daily plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Manufacturing, fabrication, production, or general labor experience preferred.
• Ability to read and identify Manufacturing Orders (MO), labels, and production documentation.
• Ability to safely lift 50–75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Execute the daily production plan and complete panel preassembly.
• Verify all required components are correctly installed before release.
• Palletize finished panels and prepare for downstream operations.
• Maintain WIP locations and enforce FIFO throughout WIP inventory.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting devices when moving panels and assemblies.
• Inspect cranes, slings, rigging, and lifting devices before use.
• Maintain palletizing equipment, carts, tools, and material handling equipment in safe working condition.
• Produce work that meets applicable engineering and EMIT quality standards.
• Perform self-inspections and never knowingly pass a defect to the next operation.
• Immediately report engineering discrepancies, missing components, damaged product, or other quality concerns.

The Palleting, WIP Organization & Preassembly Technician is responsible for supporting efficient production flow throughout the Electronics Assembly department by completing panel preassembly, organizing and maintaining Work-In-Process (WIP) inventory, and palletizing finished panels to EMIT standards. This role ensures WIP is properly identified, protected, and managed using FIFO principles; verifies preassembly work meets engineering and quality requirements; and prepares finished products for shipment through proper cleaning, packaging, documentation, and final inspection. The technician safely operates overhead cranes and material handling equipment to move large assemblies, maintains an organized and production-ready work environment, and immediately communicates safety, quality, material, equipment, or production concerns that could affect the daily production plan.

Key Accountabilities:

Production Plan Execution & Preassembly

• Execute all assigned work necessary to achieve the daily production plan.
• Complete panel preassembly in accordance with EMIT standards.
• Verify all required components are correctly installed before releasing work.
• Prepare completed panels for downstream operations.
• Perform self-inspections to ensure work meets engineering and quality standards.
• Immediately communicate any condition that could prevent successful completion of the assigned production plan.
• Palletize finished panels in accordance with EMIT palletizing and packaging standards.
• Select the correct pallet and properly position required foam and protective materials.
• Clean finished panels prior to packaging.
• Apply protective bagging and stretch wrapping as required.
• Complete required palletizing and product documentation accurately.
• Perform a final inspection before releasing palletized product.
• Immediately report damaged product, packaging concerns, or conditions that could affect product quality.

WIP & Material Management

• Receive product from Break & Coat and place it in the appropriate designated WIP location.
• Organize and maintain all Work-In-Process (WIP) inventory in designated locations.
• Maintain strict FIFO (First In, First Out) throughout WIP inventory.
• Keep WIP properly identified, protected, organized, and production ready.
• Maintain adequate inventory of packaging materials.
• Properly store and protect packaging materials and production supplies.
• Report material or packaging shortages before they affect production.

Safety & Equipment Responsibility

• Perform all work in accordance with EMIT safety policies and immediately report unsafe conditions.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting devices when moving panels and assemblies.
• Maintain current EMIT Overhead Crane Operator Certification.
• Inspect cranes, slings, rigging, and lifting devices before use.
• Immediately report damaged, defective, or unsafe equipment.
• Maintain palletizing equipment, carts, tools, and material handling equipment in safe working condition.
• Use required PPE and follow established material handling practices at all times.
• Produce work that meets applicable engineering and EMIT quality standards.
• Perform self-inspections and never knowingly pass a defect to the next operation.
• Immediately report engineering discrepancies, missing components, damaged product, or other quality concerns.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, staging areas, WIP locations, and aisles in accordance with EMIT 5S standards.
• Keep production and material storage areas free of unnecessary packaging material, debris, and obstructions.
• Identify and recommend improvements that reduce waste, improve safety, increase efficiency, and improve production flow.
• Communicate production interruptions and other concerns that could affect safety, quality, delivery, or workflow.
