Specific Role

The Denester plays a critical role in EMIT's manufacturing process by manually separating laser-cut parts from the scrap skeleton, preparing components for downstream production, and ensuring material is accurately identified, organized, and staged for the next operation. This position is responsible for maintaining production flow by handling materials safely, identifying quality concerns, and supporting a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Key Accountabilities

Execute Daily Denesting Operations

  • Separate laser-cut parts from the scrap skeleton according to Manufacturing Orders (MO).
  • Sort, organize, and palletize completed parts for the next scheduled production activity.
  • Place reusable remnants into designated storage locations following company procedures.
  • Handle materials carefully to prevent damage during the denesting process.
  • Maintain production pace to support downstream operations and daily production schedules.

Ensure Product Quality

  • Inspect parts during the denesting process for defects, damage, incomplete cuts, or dimensional concerns.
  • Identify and separate nonconforming parts from acceptable product.
  • Submit rejected parts for rework following established procedures.
  • Notify Production Leadership of recurring quality concerns or equipment issues affecting product quality.

Material Identification & Traceability

  • Ensure all pallets, containers, and parts are properly labeled before leaving the work area.
  • Verify Manufacturing Order (MO), Sales Order (SO), Item Number, Bill of Materials (BOM), quantities, and other required production information.
  • Maintain complete traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Report discrepancies in documentation or labeling immediately.

Maintain Organization & Workplace Safety

  • Remove and properly dispose of scrap skeletons and waste materials throughout the shift.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Keep aisles, staging locations, and workstations clear to promote safe material flow.
  • Support 5S initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the department.
  • Follow all EMIT safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe material handling practices.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, fabrication, production, or general labor experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and identify Manufacturing Orders (MO), labels, and production documentation.
  • Ability to safely lift 50-75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and perform repetitive physical tasks for the duration of the workday.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality issues and labeling discrepancies.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work to support production schedules.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, including proper PPE usage and adherence to all safety procedures.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic with a focus on supporting production objectives.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and moving for the duration of a shift.
  • Always use proper PPE when required.
  • Follow safety protocols when using tools and handling cleaning materials.
