Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections seeks an Electronic Technician II for Lancaster Correctional Institution. The role involves maintenance, repair, and installation of electronic security, CCTV, and related systems within a correctional facility.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ year in electronics or 4+ years of electronics experience; a valid driver's license is also required. This on-site role supports the Facilities Management and Building Construction mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of electronics/electrician experience OR 4+ years of electronics experience (training can substitute).
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical infrastructure, systems, and devices; on-the-job training to supervised inmates.
• Perform preventive maintenance, tests, logs, and record-keeping for electrical systems.
• Repair and modify complex electronic equipment; operate, repair, and calibrate testing equipment.
• Plan and organize work; requisition parts; follow maintenance and construction procedures.
• Prepare reports, supervise inmates, participate in training, and perform related duties.
