Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections seeks an Electronic Technician II for Jackson Correctional Institution in the Maintenance Department. The role focuses on maintaining electrical infrastructure, repairing systems, and supervising inmate workers to ensure safe, compliant facilities.

Reporting to Facilities Management and Building Construction, you will document work, plan tasks, and coordinate with staff to meet regulatory standards and public safety goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ year experience in electronics/electrician OR 4+ years electronics experience; trade training can substitute.
• Requires a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install electrical infrastructure and devices; provide on-the-job training to supervised inmates.
• Perform preventive maintenance, tests, logs, and record keeping for electrical systems per guidelines.
• Repair and modify complex electronic equipment; operate, calibrate testing equipment.
• Plan and organize work; requisition parts; follow policies and procedures.
