Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking an Electronic Technician II at Lawtey Correctional Institution to maintain and repair electronic security systems, CCTV, and related devices in a correctional environment.

The role requires strength in electrical infrastructure, preventive maintenance, and device calibration, with supervision of inmates where applicable. A high school diploma and driver’s license are required, and the position is office-based within the maintenance department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in electronics/electrician field or 4+ years electronics experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in a correctional environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install electronic systems and devices including perimeter security and CCTV.
• Repair and modify electronic equipment; operate, test, and calibrate testing devices.
• Plan work, requisition parts, and follow maintenance policies and procedures.
• Prepare reports and assist in inmate supervision as required.
• Ensure safety and compliance with department guidelines and training.
