Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections seeks an Electronics Technician II for Jackson Correctional Institution in the Maintenance Department. The role fixes, maintains, and installs electronic systems used to secure and operate the facility, including CCTV and locking controls.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with electronics exposure, and a valid driver’s license. You will train inmates on procedures, keep logs, and support regular maintenance tasks across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of electronics/electrician experience OR four or more years of electronics experience (training can substitute).
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install electronic systems and devices including perimeter security, internal electronic security, locking control systems, CCTV, and communications within the facility.
• Perform preventive maintenance, tests, and record logs per Department guidelines.
• Repair and modify complex electronic equipment; operate, repair, and calibrate testing equipment.
