Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking an Electronic Technician II for Lawtey Correctional Facility in the Maintenance Department. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and installing electronic security and CCTV systems within the facility.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of electronics/electrician experience, or 4+ years of electronics experience. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year in electronics/electrician field or 4+ years electronics experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities should be shown on the application, education, work experience, work sample, interview or reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install electronic systems and devices including perimeter security, internal electronic security, locking control systems, CCTV, and communications.
• Maintain electrical infrastructure and provide on-the-job training to supervised inmates.
• Perform preventive maintenance, tests, logs, and record-keeping per department guidelines.
• Plan and organize work, requisition parts, and follow policies and procedures.
• Prepare reports, manage custody of supervised inmates, and participate in staff training.
