Total Technology Inc. in New Jersey is seeking an Electronic Technician II to join our fabrication, wire and assembly shop supporting a government customer.

This role reads assembly drawings and schematics, performs soldering, cable and harness assembly, PCB population, light machining, and quality inspection with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards. You will review documentation, provide feedback to the engineering team on test specifications, and collaborate on improving builds while adhering to ESD

Qualifications

• Build and repair cables and electronics wired assemblies, PCB assemblies, and mechanical hardware assemblies; light machining as required.
• Familiarity with MIL-Spec connector series and strain relief assembly; knowledge of wire/conductor characteristics and cable protection.
• Provide input to engineering to develop test specs and feedback on assembly documentation.
• Review documentation using Word/Sheets and Microsoft applications.
• Soldering and PCB population with IPC standards IPC/WHMA-A-620B and IPC J-STD-001; training required.
• Work with fine-pitch and micro-SMT parts (0402/0603) for repair and replacement.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, layouts, schematics, and wire lists.
• Test and verify assembly quality using Ohmmeters, power supplies, and other equipment.
• Attention to detail and adherence to ESD controls and workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Read assembly drawings and schematics to plan builds.
• Assemble cables, harnesses, PCBs, and mechanical hardware; perform light machining as needed.
• Solder components and attach cables with precise crimping per IPC standards.
• Review and feedback to design team on builds and test specs.
• Inspect and verify quality before delivery using standard test equipment.
• Follow ESD controls and maintain documentation for assemblies.
