Qualifications

• Senior-level experience as Lead Security Electronics Technician, Systems Commissioning Tech, or Technical Field Superintendent.
• Deep expertise in AC/DC power, networking, and relay/control systems.
• Certifications in Card Access, IP Video, PLC, BICSI; OSHA 10/30.
• Able to read and redline complex electrical schematics and shop drawings.
• Willingness to travel locally to San Antonio area and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Direct, mentor, and lead on-site teams of security electronics technicians.
• Lead complex diagnostic and troubleshooting across electrical systems and networks.
• Build, configure, test, and commission large-scale security systems on-site with FAT/SAT.
• Review drawings and submittals to identify and resolve field discrepancies.
• Interface with PMs, Systems Engineers, Programmers, GC, and clients on-site.
• Enforce safety protocols and maintain field documentation including redlines.

Position Summary

We are seeking a high-level Technical Superintendent / Sr. Electronics Manufacturing Technician to direct site operations, system commissioning, and technical installation for major security electronics projects in the San Antonio, TX area.

This is not a traditional general construction superintendent role managing heavy civil trade labor. Instead, we are looking for a highly qualified, advanced electronics expert who can lead field technicians on-site, perform advanced system troubleshooting, oversee testing/commissioning, and ensure complex security electronic systems (access control, IP video, intercoms, and control networks) are installed to exact contract specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Site Leadership: Direct, mentor, and lead teams of security electronics technicians and field installation crews on active project sites across the San Antonio area.
• Advanced System Troubleshooting: Lead complex diagnostic and troubleshooting efforts across electrical systems, low-voltage hardware, PLC/programming integration, and network infrastructure.
• Testing & Commissioning: Build, configure, test, and commission large-scale security electronic systems on-site, leading factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
• Project Execution & Quality Assurance: Review engineering drawings, schematics, and technical submittals prior to and during build phases to proactively identify and resolve design or field discrepancies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary technical point of contact on-site, interfacing smoothly with Project Managers, Systems Engineers, Programmers, General Contractors, and client representatives.
• Documentation & Safety: Maintain accurate field redline drawings, oversee site-specific quality standards, and enforce strict adherence to OSHA and secure facility safety protocols.

Education and Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Senior-level experience as a Lead Security Electronics Technician, Systems Commissioning Tech, or Technical Field Superintendent within the security electronics, low-voltage, or detention integration industries.
• Advanced Electronics & Networking: Deep expertise in AC/DC power (Class 1 and Class 2 wiring fundamentals), network architecture (IP addressing, subnetting, system integration), and complex relay/control systems.
• System Certifications (Preferred): Card Access certifications, IP Video certifications, Harding/PLC certifications, BICSI, or related electronic/electrical credentials. OSHA 10 or 30 required.
• Blueprint & Schematic Proficiency: Proven ability to read, interpret, redline, and execute complex electrical schematics, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Leadership & Professional Requirements: Strong ability to mentor technical teams, hold field personnel accountable, pass comprehensive background checks for secure facility access, hold a valid driver's license, and travel locally to job sites in the San Antonio area.
