Job summary

Vector Security is seeking an Electronic Systems Technician to install and service residential and small-to-mid sized commercial accounts in the Poughkeepsie area, with on-site and on-the-road assignments.

You will handle basic wiring, panel programming, system setup, and customer explanations, while maintaining professional communication and advancing technical skills through our career path and rewards program.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years industry experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving history.
• Certified Alarm Technician level 1 or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of minimum training/certification checklist per Technician Career Path.
• Effective communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Install/service residential systems and/or small to mid-sized commercial accounts with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot basic systems and perform wiring, panel programming, and system setup.
• Check for and correct errors in work and paperwork.
• Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with peers, managers, and customers.
• Train and mentor Entry Level technicians on shared job sites.

Summary

As an Electronic Systems Technician you will be responsible for the installation and/or servicing of residential systems and small to mid-sized commercial accounts. Responsibilities include knowledge of basic wiring and panel programming, system set-up, basic troubleshooting, and explanation of system to customer with ability to answer questions.

Responsibilities

• Install/service residential systems and/or small to mid-sized commercial accounts:
  • Accurately complete installations and/or servicing with frequent to minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot basic systems of assigned types.
  • Utilize skills in basic wiring, panel programming, and system set-up.
  • Check for, and correct, any errors in work and paperwork.
  • Display professionalism when interacting with and communicating with peers, manager, and customers.
• Train and mentor technicians:
  • Review work of Entry Level technicians on shared job site and provide training to correct any errors.
