Job summary

The role requires reading blueprints and process sheets, following verbal instructions, and performing self-inspection with a microscope. This position emphasizes attention to detail and the ability to work with small parts, with training provided for soldering methods.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in electronic assembly involving soldering through hole and surface mount parts.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong leadership skills and experience preferred.
• Willing to be trained; soldering experience not required.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to inspect parts for defects.

Responsibilities

• Solders components onto printed circuit boards via hand or machine method.
• Reads manufacturing documentation such as blueprints, process sheets and assembly and schematic drawings.
• Enters information on production records, logs or other report forms.
• Repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel.
• Performs assembly at the sub-assembly level of various products.
• Cuts wires and builds wire harnesses.
• Operates mechanical pick-n-place machine, solder paste machine, automated pick-n-place machine, board washer, and oven.
• Performs self-inspection visually and with microscope.
• Cuts printed circuit boards and grinds edges.
