Job description

Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full time remote Electronic Security System Design Engineer opportunity available with an opportunity to travel to locations such as Italy, Japan, and Bahrain. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.

This position may be subject to the Service Contract Labor Standards Act (SCLS)/Service Contract Act (SCA).

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Participate in site surveys and gathering of data to obtain site-specific information necessary for design and installation efforts.
  2. Provide support to the design of electronic security system and subsystem solutions from initial concept to final product based on customer work requirements.
  3. Generate material lists for design efforts.
  4. Participate in periodic design reviews as dictated by customer/contract requirements.
  5. Perform PITCO (Pre-Installation, Testing and Check Out) activities in our engineering facility.
  6. Leverage manufacturer’s literature and technical support during solution development.
  7. Utilize controlled documentation and government standards, application guides, and industry best practices to support the design and installation process.
  8. Assist with the scope definition, specification, and budgetary write-ups for proposal capture personnel for ESS efforts.
  9. Perform physical installation activities in unusual locations including climbing in and out of equipment and working outdoors.
Required QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  2. Working knowledge and/or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as Lenel, AMAG, Software House, FLIR, Hirsch, MDI, Bosch, Pelco, Genetec, HID, and Axis.
  3. Working knowledge and/or certification with operating systems commonly used for ACS, IDS, and CCTV systems.
  4. Installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic security system components and supporting hardware; examples include the following:
    1. Security appliances/processors and field sensors (e.g. motion/vibration, contact, buried line, fiber optic, radar, microwave, thermal, etc.).
    2. Access control: workstations with credentialing software, door controllers, card readers.
    3. CCTV: cameras, video management servers, network video recorders.
    4. Battery backup controllers.
  5. Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous workloads effectively, including adapting to changes, planning, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  6. Ability to read and interpret project ICD (Interface Control Document) drawings and electrical schematics.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Hands-on experience deploying and testing Physical Security Systems.
  2. 5 plus years’ experience in security systems installation.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Must possess a DoD Secret security clearance.
  5. HS diploma or equivalent.
  6. Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Ability to travel up to 70%, both CONUS and OCONUS.
  2. OCONUS locations include: Italy, Japan, and Bahrain.
  3. Active Passport in support of OCONUS travel and/or living requirements.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  1. Cambridge International Systems complies with Temporary Duty Station (TDY)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) vaccination requirements. If this position requires OCONUS travel (listed above), Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil lists applicable current vaccination requirements by location.
  2. Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
  3. Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
  4. May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
