Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Neurodiagnostic Lab professional to join the days full-time team. You will prepare equipment, review patient history, educate patients about procedures, monitor conditions, and report adverse reactions.

You'll operate EEG, Evoked Potential, and PSG systems, score and document results, and ensure artifacts are corrected. Relevant ABRET credentials and a neurodiagnostic program certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Certificate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic program required.
• ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation credentials preferred or required within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform setup and preparation of equipment/supplies for ordered test.
• Review the patient's history, obtain any necessary information or documentation, and provide education to the patient about procedures. Monitor and document the patient's condition at all times and report any adverse reactions.
• Operate and maintain EEG, EP, and PSG equipment. Recognize and correct artifacts.
• Score, graph, document and report results of diagnostic procedures.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Perform setup and preparation of equipment/supplies for ordered test.
• Review the patient's history, obtain any necessary information or documentation, and provide education to the patient about procedures. Monitor and document the patient's condition at all times and report any adverse reactions.
• Operate and maintain a variety of equipment to obtain diagnostic data, which may include EEG (Electroencephalography), EP (Evoked Potential), and PSG (Polysomnography) equipment. Recognize and correct for artifacts.
• Score/graph, document and report results of diagnostic procedures

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• One or more of the following required:
  
  
  • Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  
  
  • Technologist specializing in Neurophysiologic Intraop Monit credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  
  
  • Technologist specializing in Evoked Potential credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  
  
  • Tech specializing in Nerve Conduction Study obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  
  

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
