Job summary

The Thermo Fisher Scientific Application Scientist role supports the Americas NanoPort team, delivering advanced customer trainings, product demonstrations, and data-driven workflows for TEM/SEM/XPS users in academia and industry.

You will travel 40-50% domestically and internationally, collaborate with leading researchers, and contribute to manuals, application notes, and publications while expanding instrument knowledge and customer success.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a field related to the instrumentation and applications.
• Hands-on experience with TEM/SEM, XPS, or Dual Beam/FIB instrumentation.
• Ability to travel 40–50% domestically and internationally.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform product and workflow demonstrations based on customer needs.
• Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into solutions.
• Support users to obtain optimal results from instruments quickly.
• Provide application support for new product developments and contribute to manuals.
• Present experimental research at workshops and conferences and in publications.
