Job summary

Nanoscience Instruments is seeking an Application Scientist to support electron microscopy solutions, including SEM/EDS, ion milling, and software-driven automation. You will demonstrate capabilities to customers and educate them on product uses, collaborating with account managers and supplier R&D.

This role emphasizes Python-based automation, data analysis, and training, with travel required to customer sites and conferences to drive automation and product adoption across North America.

Qualifications

• BS; MS or PhD preferred in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or Engineering or related area.
• Experience with SEM, EDS/EDX, and Python.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Travel 30–50% domestically and internationally.
• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency (Green Card) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for sales in USA and Canada through consultations, demonstrations, and sample evaluations.
• Develop and optimize automated workflows and solutions for customer needs.
• Represent Nanoscience Instruments via technical presentations and live demos at conferences and workshops.
• Perform installations and customer training on instrument operation and concepts to ensure success.
• Provide post-sales support including training, workflow optimization, and troubleshooting.
