Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in the Manufacturing organization to design complex mechanical assemblies for PCBA and product level test systems. You will develop fixtures with tight tolerances and actuation, and steer designs using DFM/DFT principles.

You will collaborate with rapid fabrication teams or suppliers, and integrate your designs into Anduril’s PDM workflow, following the same release process as product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields OR 6+ years of experience.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on product designs that have gone to manufacturing.
• Expert capability with at least one Mechanical Design package.
• Experience with contract manufacturers, in-house fabrication, and prototyping.
• Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as load cells, strain gauges, multimeters.
• Strong root cause analysis skills of non-conforming hardware.
• Familiar with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems.
• Experience integrating electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical assemblies for PCBA and product level test systems using CAD tools.
• Develop fixtures with tight tolerances and pneumatic/manual actuation.
• Collaborate with rapid fabrication teams or suppliers to source equipment.
• Integrate designs into Anduril’s PDM systems and follow product release processes.
• Incorporate DFM/DFT requirements into product designs with design teams.
• Develop complex electromechanical systems with software and electrical engineers.
• Generate test work instructions for technicians and train staff as needed.
• Determine root cause of failures and implement corrective actions (RCCA).
• Analyze test data, document results, and report defects for improvement.
