Job summary

Westlake Pipe & Fittings, a Westlake division, is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to diagnose and repair electrical and electronic equipment on a rotating shift in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate will have PLC programming experience (ladder logic), the ability to read drawings and schematics, and hands-on expertise with 480V systems, test equipment, and safety protocols. Overtime may be required, and 5S standards must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Formal technical training in electronics with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• Robotics background preferred.
• Associates degree in electronics or Journeyman’s card preferred.
• Must have a Kansas Class C driver’s license.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic equipment on the assigned shift.
• Maintain, service, and repair electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Read drawings and schematics; use test equipment and troubleshoot at component level.
• Communicate states of equipment and estimated repair times to others; work self-guided.
• Maintain 5S standards and safety procedures; overtime as needed.

Ideal candidate will have experience in PLC programming using ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuits to the component level. Ability to make repairs to systems, read drawings and schematics, utilize a variety of test equipment and work with low voltages. Must have the ability to work self-guided and be able to prioritize jobs. Position requires good communication skills to adequately relay the state of equipment and estimated repair time to others.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMay include, but are not limited to, the following:Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.Individual must have experience in Allen Bradley, Modicon, and Square D PLC logic programming.Individual must possess electrical circuit troubleshooting skills.Experience in an industrial environment as well as the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, sketches and schematics.Must be familiar with related test equipment and three phase 480V circuits.Experience with 480V and below.Must be a dedicated, hard-working self-starter.Experience in the repair, installation and troubleshooting of commercial industry machinery, robotics, plumbing, and/or physical building structure is desired.Must be able to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and any other PPE that is required in the performance of the responsibilities of the position.Work safely and maintain a safe, clean work environment, and perform available work as required by the supervisor.Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed and to take on additional assignments as requested by management.Maintain 5S standards.Weekly on-call 6 times a year max.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSFormal technical training in electronics with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the craft.
