Job summary

Westlake Pipe & Fittings is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires PLC programming experience (ladder logic) and the ability to read electrical drawings and schematics, working on systems below 600V.

Ideal candidates have formal electronics training and at least 5 years of industrial electrical experience.

Qualifications

• Formal technical training in electronics with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the trade.
• Associates degree in electronics or Journeyman’s card preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and work safely.
• Troubleshoot/repair PLC circuits and write ladder logic.
• Read diagrams/schematics and diagnose electrical problems.
• Maintain CMMS documentation (FIXX).
• Work overtime as needed and communicate repair times clearly.

Ideal candidate will have experience in PLC programming using ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuits to the component level. Ability to make repairs to systems, read drawings and schematics, utilize a variety of test equipment and work with low voltages less than 600 volts (ac/dc) Must have the ability to work self-guided and be able to prioritize jobs. Position requires good communication skills to adequately relay the state of equipment and estimated repair time to others.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMay include, but are not limited to, the following:Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.Individual must have experience in Allen Bradley, Modicon, and Square D PLC logic programming.Individual must possess electrical circuit troubleshooting skills.Experience in an industrial environment as well as the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, sketches and schematics.Must be familiar with related test equipment and three phase 480V circuits.Experience with 480V and below.Troubleshoot/repair PLC circuitsWrite A/B PLC logic programTroubleshooting/program/specify motor drivesMust be a dedicated, hard-working self-starter.Responsibilities documentation in Plant designated CMMS program (FIXX)Experience in the repair, installation and troubleshooting of commercial industry machinery, plumbing, and/or physical building structure is desired.Must be able to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and any other PPE that is required in the performance of the responsibilities of the position.Work safely and maintain a safe, clean work environment, and perform available work as required by the supervisor.Perform all Manufacturing plant electrical and electrical diagnostics repair and installation, consistent with plant electriciansAbility and willingness to work overtime as needed and to take on additional assignments as requested by management.Maintain 5S standards.Provide own basic hand toolsFlexibility for Emergency call issues after hours should they arisePerform all duties as assigned.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSFormal technical training in electronics with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the craft.
