Job summary

Simbex, LLC in Lebanon, NH designs complex electromechanical devices and wearable IoT systems. The System Design Engineer will lead mechanical design, system integration, data collection, and manufacturing-support activities across cross-disciplinary teams. You’ll apply human-centered design, drive DFx, and help optimize for high-volume production.

Ideal candidates have SolidWorks proficiency, GD&T expertise, hands-on prototyping, and experience validating performance in lab and field tests.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• SolidWorks for 3D modeling and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Hands-on prototyping with 3D printing and machining.
• Experience with analog and digital signal acquisition and measurement.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Design & Development: design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for wearables IoT devices and more using SolidWorks; design-for-manufacture with attention to size, weight, and performance constraints; create and maintain drawings and BOM updates.
• System Integration & Testing: support integration of mechanical, electrical, and firmware subsystems; develop and execute verification and validation test plans; collect and analyze test data against specs; troubleshoot issues during bring-up and field testing.
• Data Collection: design and execute structured data collection protocols in lab and field environments; set up data acquisition systems to capture outputs across test conditions; analyze datasets to assess system performance.
• Manufacturing Process Support: monitor manufacturing activities for electromechanical sensor systems; troubleshoot production issues; maintain fixtures and test equipment; analyze production data to identify trends and root causes; travel ~5% domestically.
• Documentation & Process: maintain project documentation per Quality Management System; prepare engineering analyses; lead design reviews for production releases.
