SiPhox Health in Burlington, MA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own key subsystems of our home diagnostics platform. You will design and iterate hardware, ensure manufacturability at scale, and work closely with production teams.

The role requires 3+ years in mechanical design, expertise with injection molding, MCAD tools like SolidWorks or OnShape, and a track record of solving complex design challenges in medical device contexts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Experience with injection molding design and high-volume production.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 or ISO 8015 standards.
• Ability to design for manufacturability and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical designs for defined subsystems of medical and diagnostic devices, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability
• Design and review parts and assemblies optimized for high-volume injection molding and automated assembly methods
• Apply rapid prototyping techniques to accelerate product development and iteration, with minimal guidance
• Plan and execute engineering tests to validate designs and improve performance
• Create and review detailed design specifications, including 3D and 2D MCAD models following ASME Y14.5 or ISO 8015 standards
• Closely collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing engineers and scientists, often owning the mechanical side of complex technical challenges
• Lead root cause analysis and drive design or process changes to enhance product quality and performance
• Own system design, system and sub-system requirements and verification plans for your subsystems
• Mentor Mechanical Design Engineers on MCAD practices, DFM/DFA, and design-verification approach
• Review other engineers' designs and drawings for manufacturability and compliance with design standards
• Take a leading role in supplier and vendor conversations for the components/subsystems you own
