Job summary

Talanto is seeking a Prototype & Test Engineering intern to help bring a new electromechanical product to market. You will join a small, mission-driven team to build and deploy prototypes, run tests, and support failure analysis in hardware‑software integrated systems.

This on-site internship lasts 8–10 weeks (fall 2026) in San Francisco, offering hands-on experience across sensor, mechanical, electrical, and software domains with a fast-paced, high-standards culture.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related technical field; hands-on prototyping experience preferred.
• Experience with lab equipment and electrical/mechanical testing is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI tools for debugging, scripting, or documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and test complex electromechanical systems for a new product, including sensors, pumps, and electronics.
• Collaborate with product team to deploy systems to real users.
• Collaborate with sensor, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to review sensor data and field feedback, identify root cause of issues, and determine corrective actions.
• Reproduce and characterize failure cases on the bench to confirm root cause and validate corrective actions.
• Track and report findings from troubleshooting to the engineering and product team.
