Shield AI is redefining autonomous aviation with cutting-edge AI and GPS/RF-denied navigation technologies. We’re building a next-generation aircraft and seeking an Electromechanical Engineer to join our team and support the design and integration of avionics systems for advanced aircraft.

This entry-level role provides hands-on learning with guidance from experienced engineers from development through manufacturing and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Fundamental mechanical engineering concepts.
• Experience with CAD software like NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
• Ability to read and create basic engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with electromechanical systems and interfaces.
• Willing to obtain S//SAR-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support design of electromechanical avionics packaging and integration.
• Create and update 3D models, drawings, bills of materials.
• Assist with structural, thermal, and modal analyses.
• Help investigate design and manufacturing issues and document results.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and flight-readiness activities.
• Follow established engineering processes and configuration control.
• Develop task plans and communicate progress.
• Collaborate within the team and incorporate feedback.
