Shieldai is seeking a highly motivated engineer to design and field next-generation autonomous aircraft systems. You will balance technical rigor with rapid decision-making in an accelerated development environment and own concepts through validation and flight readiness. The role requires a B.S.

or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 10+ years of aerospace experience with hardware design, harness integration, and CAD tooling.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing mechanical and electrical aerospace equipment.
• Design electro-mechanical solutions for avionics packaging and harness integration.
• Experience with harsh environment survivability and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Ownership of design from concept to flight test readiness.
• Collaboration with electrical engineers on PCB constraints and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design complex electro-mechanical solutions for avionics packaging, interconnects, and harness integration.
• Perform structural, thermal, and modal analyses to ensure survivability.
• Ensure DO-160, DO-254, DO-178C, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 compliance.
• Lead design reviews and validate through flight test readiness.
