Job summary

Shield AI is hiring an entry-level Electromechanical Engineer to help design and integrate avionics systems for advanced aircraft. You will apply engineering fundamentals, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute from development through manufacturing and testing.

Qualifications

• Understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering concepts, including mechanics, materials, heat transfer, and manufacturing processes
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to obtain an S//SAR-level security clearance is desired

Responsibilities

• Support the design of electromechanical solutions for avionics packaging, electrical interconnects, thermal management, and aircraft integration
• Create and update 3D models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and other design documentation
• Assist with structural, thermal, and modal analyses under the guidance of experienced engineers
• Work with electrical engineers to define and document mechanical interfaces for circuit cards, connectors, wiring, and harnesses
• Help investigate well-defined design and manufacturing issues, evaluate solutions, and document results
• Support prototype builds, system integration, environmental testing, failure analysis, and flight-test readiness activities
• Follow, and contribute to, established engineering processes, configuration-control practices, and functional best practices
• Develop plans for assigned tasks, communicate progress and risks, and execute against team priorities
• Build effective working relationships within the team, incorporate feedback, and share relevant knowledge
• Contribute to products that advance Shield AI’s mission while demonstrating the company’s values
