Shield AI is seeking a Senior Staff Electromechanical Engineer to design and integrate avionics systems, driving concepts to production in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

You will own complex electro-mechanical solutions for avionics packaging, perform structural and thermal analyses, ensure EMI/EMC compliance (DO-160, DO-254, MIL-STD-810), and support flight-test readiness, with a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical & electrical equipment design for aerospace
• Experience with harness integration and mechanical component design
• Experience collaborating with electrical engineers to define PCB constraints and card development
• Familiarity with PCB layout process and advanced manufacturing methods
• Ability to work in fast-paced, agile development environments; readiness for security clearance is desirable

Responsibilities

• Design complex electro-mechanical solutions for avionics packaging and integration
• Perform structural, thermal, and modal analyses to ensure survivability in harsh environments
• Ensure avionics meet DO-160, DO-254, DO-178C, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 compliance
• Own design work from concept through reviews, validation, and flight-test readiness
