Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Controls Trainer to lead the delivery of instructor-led training for our customers. This role sits on a new and expanding global Customer Training team that aims to delight our customers with training that amplifies customer value. The right individual is mechanically inclined and passionate about instructional delivery. With a knack for facilitating informative, sticky, and fun training, this person will ensure our customers and employees can use, maintain, and troubleshoot our equipment. This role will need to be local to the Baltimore area.


This is an exciting opportunity to be a key contributor to our growing program as we build a robust educational service for our customers that solves their most critical conveyance needs. This role is part of the dynamic and fast-growing Logistics and Material Handling Business Unit and reports to the Customer Training Program Manager. It is based remotely in the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate highly effective instructor-led training for customers on Intralox equipment, focusing on conveyance systems, belting, camera tunnels, gappers, scales, and associated components.
  • Instruct trainees on controls software, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) devices, and the integration of these system.
  • Train customer technicians on proper equipment maintenance, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Develop trainees' skills in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training through learner feedback and knowledge/skill demonstration; drive continuous improvement in our training delivery.
  • Partner with Project Manager in the weeks leading up to each tour to ensure all logistics and health and safety conditions are in place. Supervise training areas for participants' safety during training delivery.
  • Contribute to the Intralox Customer Training program by creating/simplifying tools, sharing across our team, and developing best practices with designers, instructors and field technicians.
  • Support the development and refinement of technical training content, including classroom presentations, hands-on exercises, digital training, and job aids.
  • Support the development and delivery of train-the-trainer programs.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in teaching, instructional delivery, and/or training.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering degree, work experience, or relevant aptitude.
  • Skilled at conveying mechanical and electrical technical concepts and ideas simply and clearly.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including presenting, listening, questioning, time management.
  • Customer service mindset with a drive to delight customer with a strong training experience.
  • Confident, resilient, flexible, proactive, and self-managed
  • Strong planning, organization, and project management skills
  • Open to feedback, with proven ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet customer training schedule, including occasional weekends
  • Ability to carry 50 lbs. of equipment to customer site for training when needed

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Intralox considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training and key skills. Therefore, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply regardless of their salary expectations.
The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.
Salary Range: $51,800 to $119,600.
