Job summary

Becton Dickinson is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical and electronic maintenance on equipment per blueprints and specifications. You will read schematics, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance while ensuring cGMP compliance.

Role requires reading/writing English, and willingness to work overtime and support continuous improvement efforts. Strong collaboration with engineering and production teams is essential to reduce costs and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree in a technical field preferred; in lieu of degree, two years technical experience required.
• Able to read and write and converse in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnose causes and repair equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain parts inventory.
• Support engineering projects with ordering and installation of new equipment and IQs.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce costs, improve reliability and reduce waste.
• Test electronic circuits with oscilloscopes, signal generators, amp meters and voltmeters.
• Install, modify and understand control panel wiring; work with PLC ladder logic.
• Train operators and assist with machine setup/operation.
• Maintain spare parts inventory with central crib.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Propose design changes to upgrade equipment and reduce problems.
• Overtime may be required; off-shifts and call-ups possible.
