The Packer Avenue Marine Terminal, operated by Greenwich Terminals LLC in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is one of the most productive terminals in the United States.

The facility employs 12 in-house labor crews and offers 19 start times, providing flexibility for vessel schedules. This results in faster cargo handling, quicker discharges, and cost savings for distributors.

Electro-Mechanical Technician – Crane Department

Union Position: IAM

Salary Range: $32.95 – 38.15/hr

Minimum Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience with electrical control circuits for three-phase and single-phase power.
• Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, computer & network skills, use of electrical test equipment, and understanding of electrical components and circuit schematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system defects, including relay logic, PLCs, electrical controls, networks, fiber optics, and crane motor drives.
• Experience in repairing crane hardware such as brake assemblies, control modules, relay circuits, generator controls, operator chairs, and spreader bars.
• Capability to perform equipment modifications including DC drives, VFDs, motor replacements, and festoon replacements.
• Proficiency in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics and troubleshooting related equipment.
• Assist in replacing wire ropes, sheaves, crane wheels, and bearings.
• Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, and regular crane inspections.
• Handle other mechanical duties as assigned.
• Operate cranes for testing and inspections, utilizing crane diagnostic software.
• Communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, and other technicians regarding schedules and repairs.
• Maintain inventory for repairs and ensure proper record-keeping.
• Work in all weather conditions, at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy environments.
• Perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, and lifting tools and equipment over 50 pounds.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in repairs and housekeeping.
