Job summary

Crane Co. in Marion, NC, is seeking a versatile Maintenance Technician to install, repair, and maintain plant machinery and equipment. You will read blueprints, use test instruments, and perform preventive maintenance under the Maintenance Manager.

The role requires hands-on skills with machine tools, electrical systems, and welding/brazing as needed, plus the ability to diagnose faults and implement remedies to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance; team lift for heavier items.
• Must have basic blueprint reading skills to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Must have basic math skills including addition / subtraction of fractions and decimal values for determining material, manufacturing, and inspection requirements.
• Must have ability to read measuring instruments such as tape measure, thickness gage, micrometres, and callipers.
• Must have Electrical Maintenance Certification or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to perform analytical troubleshooting and do complex electrical installation, repair and assembly of electronic equipment, PLC Programming control panels and wiring.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plant machinery from drawings, sketches, manuals and instructions.
• Dismantle units, repair/replace defective parts and reassemble.
• Operate and adjust machine tools and related equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and report remedies to supervisor.
• Maintain a neat, safe, and orderly work area and inspect equipment regularly.
