  • Review and optimize maintenance plans to improve line performance.

Position Summary

Multi-skilled individual with primary responsibility to maintain equipment in a proactive safe manner; identify, troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical abnormalities on all factory equipment. Perform all preventative maintenance as scheduled to drive down performance losses and increase equipment reliability. Build operator technical skills and capability.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain Factory Equipment – identify defects, execute preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Work in various areas of the plant including process areas, primary and secondary packaging equipment, material handling and storage equipment.
  • Maintain power distribution system (up to 480 volts).
  • Control systems – basic PLC I/O hardware troubleshooting, motor, sensor, drives and basic electrical circuits, basic understanding of device communication networks.
  • Mechanical systems – hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical drive systems.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems to maintain, optimize and improve production equipment, focusing on safety, quality, and cost.
  • Review maintenance plans and optimize to drive reliability of equipment.
  • Use, validate, and redline engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical).
  • Understand factory’s key processes (including industrial services, quality, etc.).
  • Build capability: coach operator skills, adjust/changeovers for new and improved processes (e.g., new centerlines, improved cleaning process, improved changeover process, elimination of a source of contamination or hard‑to‑reach places).
  • Transfer operational tasks such as lubrication and inspection.
  • Build technical procedures.
  • Train other technical resources.
  • Use the CMMS system (SAP‑AMM) to accurately document all maintenance activities.
  • Create work orders, perform time entry and provide technical feedback on work performed.
  • Improve maintenance plans and provide feedback to the maintenance planner on line performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Review required spare parts to ensure accurate bill of materials.
Requirements and Minimum Education Level
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of equivalent work experience and/or a two‑year technical degree in a maintenance‑related area such as maintenance technical/mechanical, industrial maintenance, mechanical maintenance, electronics technology.
  • Able to work off‑shifts, weekends and extended shifts (e.g., 10‑hour, 12‑hour).
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Mechanical skills: hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drive systems, utility systems (air, steam, refrigeration, etc.).
  • Electrical skills: knowledge of national electrical code, power systems and distribution (up to 480 V), basic PLC/hardwire logic circuits knowledge, motor control circuits, safety circuits, analog and discrete devices, and use of test equipment (amp meter, megger, etc.).
  • Control systems: basic PLC I/O hardware troubleshooting and understanding of device communication networks.
  • Instrumentation and field devices: analog/discrete devices.
  • CMMS familiarity: SAP‑AMM and other production workflow/control systems.
  • Principle of operation, read/interpret machine, electrical, and facility drawings.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and diagnose industrial systems.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications required by Nestlé policies (Arc Flash, LOTO, PTWs, etc.).
  • Welding, fabrication, and machining skills (as required).

  • Follow work standards and fully adhere to all safety permitting and facility lock‑out/tag‑out requirements while executing tasks.
  • Demonstrate safe practices when working with low‑ and medium‑voltage electrical systems and components.
