Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Power Tools is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to develop next-generation cordless, corded, and connected power tools from concept through launch. This on-site role collaborates with mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, quality, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to bring products to market.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical/electro-mechanical background with 4+ years in product development, experience with motors, sensors, and embedded electronics, and is able to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electro-mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in product development, design engineering, or electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience with motors, sensors, and embedded electronics is beneficial.
• Knowledge of wireless tech (Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi) and relevant tools (Creo/Windchill/Altium).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electro-mechanical systems for new power tool products.
• Create and evaluate concepts, prototypes, and design solutions.
• Integrate motors, drivetrains, batteries, electronics, sensors, and user interfaces into product designs.
• Develop engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and test plans.
• Conduct product testing, analyze results, and implement design improvements.
• Support design reviews, risk assessments, and product validation activities.
• Collaborate with global engineering, sourcing, quality, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development process.
• Support pilot builds and production launch activities.
