Job summary

Ingersoll Rand, Hampton, NJ, is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead cordless and connected power tool platforms from concept to production.

You will steer a cross-functional team of mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, and design engineers, ensuring projects meet customer needs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will shape technology roadmaps, drive innovation, and oversee budgets, risk, and schedules for global programs with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in product development.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex electromechanical product development programs.
• Strong understanding of DFM, GD&T, FMEA, reliability engineering.
• Experience with CAD platforms such as Creo or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of mechanical, electro-mechanical and product engineers.
• Establish clear technical priorities, project ownership, and resource allocation.
• Coach and mentor engineers to strengthen technical depth, innovation, and leadership capabilities.
• Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Lead engineering execution for cordless and connected power tool platforms.
• Ensure adherence to product development processes and stage-gate reviews.
• Drive successful execution of programs from concept through commercialization.
• Balance innovation, customer requirements, manufacturability, reliability, and cost objectives.
• Provide technical leadership in gear trains, motor integration, battery-powered tool systems, and sensor integration.
• Develop robust validation plans including DVP&R and EMC/EMI compliance.
• Partner with Product Management to translate market opportunities into programs.
• Manage engineering budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
