Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Inc. (NYSE:IR) is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager in Hampton, NJ, to lead cordless and connected power tool platform development from concept to production.

You will provide technical and organizational leadership for a cross-functional team of mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, and design engineers supporting NPD and cost optimization initiatives, collaborating with Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and global centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in product development.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex electromechanical product development programs.
• Strong understanding of DFM, GD&T, FMEA, and reliability engineering.
• Experience with CAD platforms such as Creo or equivalent.
• Proven track record of launching products into production.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and product engineers.
• Establish clear technical priorities, project ownership, and resource allocation.
• Coach engineers to strengthen technical depth, innovation, and leadership.
• Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Lead engineering execution for cordless and connected power tool platforms.
• Ensure adherence to product development processes, stage-gate reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Drive successful execution of complex programs from concept through commercialization.
• Balance innovation, customer requirements, manufacturability, reliability, and cost objectives.
• Manage budgets, project timelines, and resource plans.
• Partner with Product Management to translate market opportunities into executable engineering programs.
