Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Inc. is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager in Hampton, NJ to lead cordless and connected power tool platform development from concept to production.

You will guide mechanical, electro-mechanical, and design engineers and collaborate with Product Management, Manufacturing, and global teams to meet customer needs, quality, and cost targets. The role emphasizes strategic program leadership, adherence to development processes, and a strong focus on reliability, safety, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in product development.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex electromechanical product development programs.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Knowledge of GD&T and FMEA.
• Experience with CAD platforms such as Creo or equivalent.
• Proven track record of successfully launching products into production.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of mechanical, electro-mechanical and product engineers.
• Establish clear technical priorities, project ownership, and resource allocation.
• Coach and mentor engineers to strengthen technical depth, innovation, and leadership capabilities.
• Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Lead engineering execution for cordless and connected power tool platforms.
• Ensure adherence to product development processes, stage-gate reviews, and best practices.
• Drive successful execution of complex programs from concept through commercialization.
• Balance innovation, customer requirements, manufacturability, reliability, and cost objectives.
