Contech Engineered Solutions LLC is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician for our Springfield, IL plant. You will apply electrical and mechanical expertise to support drainage systems, bridges, and stormwater infrastructure, ensuring reliable operation of manufacturing equipment.

The role requires at least 5 years of experience, an associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or related field, proficiency with PLCs and relay controls, and a hands-on, self-starting approach.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in electro-mechanical/engineering technology or electrical technology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Electro-Mechanical Technician in manufacturing.
• Excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient with hard-wired relay control systems and PLCs.
• Ability to safely evaluate AC/DC systems up to 480 volts.
• Strong computer skills.
• Self-starter with limited supervision and root-cause focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for recovery from equipment outages and preventing future outages.
• Analyze equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs promptly.
• Support Plastics Manufacturing with root-cause analysis and sustainable long-term solutions with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain a technical library of drawings, PLC and HMI programs for equipment at all locations.
• Identify timely and cost-effective replacements for obsolete components.
• Manage and improve remote interface capabilities.
• Other duties assigned.

We are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our Springfield, IL plant. As an Electro-Mechanical Tech with Contech you will contribute to America’s essential infrastructure including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management.

About the Role

• Provide technical expertise needed for timely recovery from equipment outages as well as identifying long term solutions to minimize future outages.
• Provide prompt response to analyze equipment malfunctions as well as coordinate repairs.
• Support the Contech Plastics Manufacturing to address technical problems that include root cause and analysis, being a liaison between plans and suppliers to identify and resolve equipment issues with long term solutions that are sustainable.
• Develop and maintain a common technical library of electrical and mechanical drawings, programmable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI) programs, etc. related to the manufacturing equipment located at all locations.
• Identify timely and cost-effective solutions for replacement of obsolete components.
• Manage, maintain and improve remote interface capabilities.
• Other duties assigned.

About You

We Require:

• Preferred Education: Associates Degree with focus in Electro-Mechanical Technology/Engineering Technology/Electrical Technology
• Required minimum education: Post-Secondary
• Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician or similar in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient in analyzing hard-wired relay control systems as well as modern programmable logic controllers.
• Must be able to safely evaluate alternating current and direct current systems up to 480 volts.
• Strong computer skills.
• Hands-on approach to job task to include seeking additional information on the task as required.
• Self-starter and able to execute job tasks with limited supervision. Motivated to identify root cause and long-term solution.
