Job summary

Surge is seeking experienced Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to join our manufacturing team supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance, with experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and minimizing downtime; robotics or automated equipment experience is a plus. The role offers 12-hour A/B shifts and a union position.

Qualifications

  • Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics experience preferred.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
  • Robotics or automated equipment experience is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work the assigned shift and overtime/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment and production machinery.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maintain equipment reliability.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Troubleshoot motors, sensors, controls, conveyors, and other industrial equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining automated and robotic equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Use electrical testing equipment and hand/power tools to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production downtime in a timely manner.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Complete maintenance documentation and work orders.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Work closely with production and other maintenance team members to keep equipment operating efficiently.
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Help train and mentor less-experienced maintenance employees and apprentices.

Pay: Starting at $34.20/hour
Shift Premium: Additional $0.85/hour for off-shift work
Schedule: Multiple shifts available, including 12-hour A/B shifts
