Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Maintenance Technician II in Paris, IL. This electro-mechanical role supports manufacturing operations, performing setup, repair, and routine maintenance to keep equipment at peak condition.

The candidate will diagnose complex electro-mechanical issues, adjust controls, troubleshoot PLCs, and train Level I and II technicians. Strong safety awareness and proficiency with Word/Excel are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in related field, or equivalent related experience.
• 3-7 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures.
• Must be available for regular standby assignments; overtime as required.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Willing to attend training sessions, including out-of-state locations.
• Ability to assist in Training Level I and II Technicians.
• Ability to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
• Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
• Repair and keep mechanical machine components in top operating condition
• Advanced understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistance
• Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo eyes, etc.
• Advanced understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuits and programmable drives
• Troubleshoot the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
• Complete projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment and relocate machines
• Maintain and repair pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
• Perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructions
• Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
• Monitor and report spare parts usage including completing parts order forms
• Adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and team with QA
• Train Level I and II technicians in more complex tasks and skills
• Performs other duties as assigned
