Job summary

Seidel Tanning Corp in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to own PMs on leather processing lines and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and drive systems. You will read schematics, align motors/gearboxes, and repair using diagnostic tools.

Candidates should have hands-on industrial maintenance experience, hydraulics/pneumatics knowledge, and PLC familiarity. Union environment; first shift; safety and LOTO practices required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems with print reading.
• Ability to troubleshoot with meters, drawings, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with PLCs and industrial controls is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Own PMs and inspections across leather processing lines: splitters, shavers, wringers, coloring drums, paste/toggle/vacuum drying systems.
• Troubleshoot with ammeters/ohmmeters, drawings, and diagnostic tools to resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
• Rebuild and align drive systems: motors, gearboxes, couplings, bearings, and seals.
• Maintain plant utilities and process systems: air compressors, pumps, wastewater treatment mixers and chemical dosing gear.
• Weld/fabricate and use precision measurement to repair or replace components.
• Operate scissor lifts and follow strict safety/LOTO procedures.
• Use our maintenance management system to log work orders, track asset history, and plan follow-ups.
• Read electrical blueprints; assist with PLC troubleshooting; handle low-voltage to 480V three-phase systems including starters and VFDs.
• Champion safe work practices for electrical and machinery operations.
