Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Field Service Technician in Baton Rouge, LA to troubleshoot electro-mechanical problems, complete installations, and perform unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance on customer equipment with a focus on safety and quality service.

You will analyze breakdowns, perform repairs, document service activities, and maintain tools and the service van. Local travel and strong customer service are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years mechanical/electrical experience.
• Excellent people and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ability to interpret service manuals and schematics.
• Skillful with personal hand tools.
• Professional demeanor and strong customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze problems and recommend corrective actions for breakdowns.
• Provide superior customer service and promote goodwill.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance per company policy.
• Open/close work orders and document repairs clearly.
• Maintain van cleanliness and inventory, tools, and supplies.
• Follow safety rules and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
• Local travel to customer sites as required.
