Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando, FL is seeking an Electro Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering team. You will design and produce production-ready electromechanical hardware for missiles, sensors, and mission-critical subsystems, collaborating with a wide range of engineers to ensure seamless integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional Electromechanical Engineering experience or related discipline.
  • Experience with CREO/Pro Engineer or equivalent 3D CAD software.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and harness/cable design experience.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5M GD&T.
  • Harness and cable design experience.
  • Experience with CREO Cable tool.
  • Basic understanding of electrical connectors and fastening/machining.
  • Experience with military/industry specifications (IPC, AMSE, ASTM).
  • Experience with test equipment for electrical systems.
  • US citizen; able to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience with Windchill Product Data Management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electromechanical subsystems such as CCAs, wiring harnesses, enclosures.
  • Produce detailed layouts, 3-D models, drawings; select materials and processes.
  • Model wiring harnesses in Zuken and generate Bills of Materials.
  • Create model-based routing and layout packages meeting constraints.
  • Define acceptance criteria, perform verification tests, document results in Windchill.
  • Manage MRB actions and maintain configuration control.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, subcontractors, planning and quality teams.
  • Provide technical support during design releases, assembly, inspection and test.
  • Travel to supplier sites or facilities to resolve issues and validate hardware.
  • Apply electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles throughout lifecycle.

You will be the Electro Mechanical Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed Martin Missilesand Fire Control (MFC). Our team delivers precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, designing, building and fielding the electrical hardware that powers missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems for the UnitedStates and allied militaries.

You will be the Electro Mechanical Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed Martin Missilesand Fire Control (MFC). Our team delivers precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, designing, building and fielding the electrical hardware that powers missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems for the UnitedStates and allied militaries.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Electromechanical Design Engineer you will create innovative electromechanical concepts, develop production-ready hardware, and partner with a broad set of engineers to ensure seamless integration of your designs into defense programs.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and developing electromechanical subsystems such as circuit-card assemblies (CCAs), wiring harnesses, electronic enclosures, and related sub-assemblies.
  • Producing detailed mechanical layouts, 3-D models, and engineering drawings, selecting appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
  • Modeling wiring harnesses in Zuken and generating complete Bills of Material.
  • Creating model-based routing and layout packages that satisfy size, weight, and power constraints.
  • Defining acceptance-test criteria, executing verification tests, and documenting results in Windchill.
  • Managing Material Review Board (MRB) actions, updating engineering change records, and maintaining configuration control.
  • Collaborating with structural and thermal analysts, configuration management, electrical/mechanical designers, subcontractors, planning, and quality personnel to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Providing technical support during design releases, assembly, inspection, and test phases.
  • Traveling to supplier sites or manufacturing facilities as needed to resolve issues and validate hardware.
  • Applying electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles to component analysis, prototype fabrication, and quality testing throughout the product lifecycle.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Electromechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with CREO/Pro Engineer or equivalent 3D CAD software
  • Basic electrical knowledge and harness/cable design experience
  • Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5M Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Harness and cable design experience
  • Experience with CREO Cable tool.
  • Basic understanding of electrical connectors.
  • Basic understanding of fastening techniques and machining.
  • Experience with military and industry (IPC, AMSE, ASTM) specifications.
  • Experience with test equipment for electrical systems.
  • Must be a US Citizen; must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00
