Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking an Electrical Engineer Senior to lead hardware development for missile and weapon system subsystems in Dallas, TX. You will own technical leadership, MRB disposition, and supplier coordination across development and production phases.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in aerospace hardware design and strong hands-on skills with test equipment; DoD clearance is required. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in electrical hardware design.
  • Experience in development and production phases in aerospace or similar industry.
  • Ability to read complex schematics for circuit card assemblies (CCA).
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware like CCAs and harnesses.
  • Hands-on with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, DMMs, ATE).
  • Background providing production line support, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for subsystems or hardware deliverables across development and production.
  • Provide technical leadership to subsystem suppliers to ensure contract requirements flow and hardware meets specs.
  • Own disposition of hardware through MRB processes and support production lines.
  • Lead yield investigations, failure review boards, and root-cause analyses with corrective actions.
  • Create and iterate electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring harnesses and interconnect designs.
  • Perform electrical testing, firmware/FPGA verification, and packaging reviews to keep deliveries on schedule.
  • Evaluate electrical/electronic production failures and recommend corrective actions; lead weekly supplier meetings.
  • Produce clear technical documentation on test failures and compliance with standards.
  • Assist with technical proposals by providing content expertise and effort estimates.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative team culture.

Standard Job Description

You will be the Electrical Engineer Senior for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC). Our team delivers precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, designing, building and fielding the electrical hardware that powers missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems for the United States and allied militaries.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Serving as the primary technical contact for assigned subsystems or hardware deliverables across development and production phases
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to subsystem suppliers, ensuring contract requirements flow accurately and hardware meets specifications
  • Owning the disposition of hardware through Material Review Board Engineer (MRBE) processes and supporting production lines
  • Leading yield investigations, failure review boards, and root-cause analyses, driving corrective actions when anomalies arise
  • Creating and iterating electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring harnesses, and interconnect designs for missile and weapon system subsystems
  • Performing electrical testing, firmware/FPGA verification, and electromechanical packaging reviews to keep supplier deliveries on schedule
  • Evaluating electrical/electronic production failures, performing root-cause analysis, and recommending corrective actionsLeading weekly supplier meetings and communicating issues and status to program leadership, Lockheed Martin, and government customers

This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience with electrical hardware design or a related discipline
  • Experience in electrical hardware design for development and/or production phases in aerospace or a similar industry
  • Ability to interpret and read complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies (CCA)
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware like CCAs, harnesses, etc
  • Strong hands‑on skills with electrical/electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, DMMs, automated test equipment)
  • Proven background providing production line support, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Must be a US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Desired Skills
  • Experience with MFC circuit card design processes and the Design Assurance process
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Experience with Windchill or Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
  • Experience working failure investigation, root cause, and corrective action
  • Experience working with suppliers and leading suppliers during technical issue investigation
  • Experience dispositioning and/or troubleshooting non‑conforming hardware (Failure Review Board and Material Review Board)
  • Knowledge of or experience in obsolescence management
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
