Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control seeks an Electro Mechanical Engineer in Orlando to create innovative electromechanical concepts and production‑ready hardware. You will design CCAs, harnesses, enclosures, and sub‑assemblies, producing 3‑D models, layouts, and BOMs while collaborating across engineering teams to deliver programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in electromechanical engineering.
  • Experience with CREO and Windchill or equivalent CAD/PLM tools.
  • Experience with circuit-card and PCB packaging design.
  • Experience with BOM creation in Windchill, 2D drawings, and 3D modeling.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and strong communication skills.
  • Experience working with defense customers and team leadership.

Standard Job Description

You will be the Electro Mechanical Engineer for Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (MFC). Our team designs, develops, and manufactures precision‑engagement aerospace and defense systems for the United States and allied militaries, delivering mission‑critical hardware that must meet the toughest reliability, performance, and security standards.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Electro Mechanical Engineer you will create innovative electromechanical concepts, develop production‑ready hardware, and partner with a broad‑based engineering community to ensure successful program delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing electromechanical subsystems such as circuit‑card assemblies (CCAs), harnesses, enclosures, and sub‑assemblies.
  • Producing detailed mechanical layouts, 3‑D models, and engineering drawings, selecting appropriate materials, components, and processes.
  • Modeling wiring harnesses in Zuken and generating complete Bills of Material.
  • Building model‑based routing and layout packages that satisfy size, weight, and power constraints.
  • Defining acceptance‑test criteria, executing verification tests, and documenting results in Windchill.
  • Conducting Material Review Board (MRB) actions, updating engineering change records, and maintaining configuration control.
  • Collaborating with structural and thermal analysts, configuration management, electrical/mechanical designers, subcontractors, planning, and quality teams.
  • Providing technical support during design releases, assembly, inspection, and test phases.
  • Traveling to supplier sites or manufacturing facilities as needed to resolve issues and validate hardware.

This position is in Orlando, FL.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Electromechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with CREO and Windchill or equivalent CAD and PLM tools
  • Experience with MFC circuit card and printed wiring board packaging design
  • Experience with Technical Data Package generation, including BOM creation in Windchill, 2D drawings, and 3D modeling
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with defense customers
  • Team management experience
  • Must be a US Citizen; must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills
  • IRAD to LRIP transition experience
  • Experience working with production and quality teams
  • Experience with electronics, machined components, test equipment, cable assemblies, and circuit cards
  • Experience with Windchill PDM (Product Data Management)
  • Experience with military and aerospace specifications

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
