Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Dallas is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead hardware development across defense programs, owning technical execution from development through production and sustainment.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with program managers and suppliers, define system architectures for missiles, launchers, and sensors, and drive root-cause investigations and design improvements while maintaining cost, schedule, and performance.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in electrical hardware design.
  • Experience with aerospace hardware development.
  • Ability to read complex schematics for CCAs.
  • US citizen with ability to obtain secret clearance.
  • Proven IPT leadership and program presentation skills.
  • US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Standard Job Description

You will be the Electrical Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC).Our team delivers precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, designing, building and fielding the electrical hardware that powers missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems for the UnitedStates and allied militaries.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Serving as the Electrical Engineering Lead or IPT Lead for one or more major defense programs, owning technical execution across development, production, and sustainment phases
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to subsystem suppliers, ensuring contract requirements flow accurately and hardware meets specifications
  • Leading technical coordination and oversight of subsystem suppliers, translating prime contract requirements into clear guidance for the supply base
  • Developing system-level architecture, defining interfaces, and ensuring configuration compatibility across missile, launcher, and sensor platforms
  • Leading root-cause investigations of hardware and software failures, managing engineering changes through Configuration Control Boards
  • Applying deep expertise in circuit card design, integration, test (including automated test), printed wiring board standards (IPC Class 3), J-standards, parts management/derating, EMI enclosures, and subsystem environmental testing (ESS, HALT, HASS)
  • Representing the team on Failure Review Boards (FRB), Material Review Boards (MRB), Risk & Opportunity Boards, Configuration Control Boards (CCB), and Corrective Action Boards (CAB)
  • Partnering with Program Managers to balance cost, schedule, and performance across multiple concurrent task orders
  • Contributing to accurate, executable cost estimates and supporting technical proposals with content expertise and basis of estimates
  • Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, fostering engineering excellence and a collaborative team culture

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master’s degree or PhD preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience with electrical hardware design or a related discipline
  • Experience in electrical hardware design for development and/or production phases in aerospace or a similar industry
  • Ability to interpret and read complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies (CCA)
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware like CCAs, harnesses, etc
  • Proven background providing production line support, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Strong hands-on skills with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, power supplies, and automated test equipment
  • Experience dispositioning non-conforming hardware (Material Review Board)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead IPT efforts, present to program leadership and government customers, and manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Must be a US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Desired Skills
  • Experience with MFC circuit card design processes and the Design Assurance process
  • Exceptional communication skills — ability to professionally communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy
  • Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools
  • Experience with missile systems or hypersonic weapon systems
  • Project management skillsets including leadership, planning/organization, risk management, and financial acumen
  • Experience applying Control Account Management (CAM) and EVMS methodologies
  • Proposal experience authoring and reviewing basis of estimates
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical investigations to determine root cause of hardware and software failures
  • Experience developing system-level architectures and grounding diagrams
  • Experience developing and presenting material at external customer meetings
  • Experience working within a multifunctional team and leading cross-functional technical efforts
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodology
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
